CAN YOU GUESS??? #72 : CORRECT ANSWER

CONGRATULATIONS

to

BENNI, FATOS AND MONICA

WHOSE GUESS WAS ... A HUGE EAGLE CARVED IN STONE!!!

Calouste Gulbenkian, whose statue is seen above, was a wealthy and philanthropic Armenian who, during World War II, decided to establish himself in Portugal. His businesses, which included some of the earliest oil prospect ventures in the Middle East, led him to become a very rich man. He then had the means to compile one of the most vast art collections in Europe, and became known for his very exquisite and unique artistic perspective. Gulbenkian died in 1955, and in his will he created a foundation that funds education and the arts. His statue now stands at the front part of the foundation’s gardens in the center of Lisbon.
