A few weeks ago, I took a stroll downtown and I saw all shop windows dressed with a variety of Spring wears and accessories but the low temperature, the wind and the rain have been our permanent fellows over weeks after weeks. Until when? I often ask myself. Weather has never been a common topic of conversation among Portuguese people but nowadays it has become one of the main subjects, along with the economic crisis, obviously.
The forecast for the weekend is not the best, yet the sun may shine on saturday but... for a short while. Rain will return sunday and will remain...
"March winds and April showers bring forth May flowers", will they?
~~ Have a good weekend ~~
we have been unseasonably cold for weeks, however next week they are predicting warm weather...I can't wait! enjoy your weekend whatever you do!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Danette!
DeleteThis seems to be a common theme in many places. Here in the UK we have just experienced the coldest month of March since 1962. There has been no sign of Spring at all, apart from a few daffodils and snowdrop flowers. The last three days, however, the sun has been shining and its been a little warmer, although still not as warm as it should be. At least it seems to be finally heading in the right direction.
ReplyDeleteOh, and have a wonderful weekend!!
DeleteI see...Here in Portugal it is said that the first quarter of this year has been the most rainy quarter since 1968...
Delete"Weather has never been a common topic of conversation among Portuguese people" You have something in common with Norwegians, then ;-)
ReplyDeleteEnjoy life regardless of teh weather!
We are complaining about the weather, but not this weekend!! Expected to be in the 50f. yay!!! warmest it's been since last fall. :) wonderful window walk you had :) happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteI hope sunshine visits Lisbon. Here, in Oporto, I don't expect to welcome it, though I would love to see it. Have a nice weekend, you too!
ReplyDeleteAlthough we have no snow, the Spring has not yet sprung. My daughter has two boutiques in Zürich but business is not so good at the moment. No-one is buying the lighter clothes for the summer, the weather is just not so inviting.
ReplyDeleteWe are having the usual spring weather here . You too have a nice weekend Belita .
