CAN YOU GUESS??? #100

Standing outside the above place

Jegeskávé is the Hungarian word for iced coffee
The unit of Hungarian currency is known as the Forint (HUF). Euro is accepted at most restaurants, shops, hotels, etc. However, sometimes even well known or not places exchange the currency at unrealistic rates.

As of today's official exchange rate (HUF 750.00 / EURO 2,516 / US$ 3.37)

Would you try to guess what was the charge in EURO for an iced coffee, at the place pictured above?

1. Euro 2.75

2. Euro 3.10

3. Euro 3.00

4. Euro 3.25

5. Euro 2.65

6. Euro 2.80

CORRECT ANSWER: Wednesday, August 28, 3013

  1. Sophie, most of the times you are the first 'player' to post a guess... Great!

    1. If I have something in my mind needs to be done, I like to do it asap. :)
      I make myself laugh! :)))

I looked at that exchange rate again, it's very strange! the most expensive coffee I had in Europe, was at the CDG airport, Paris, I paid almost 7 Euro. (Starbucks)

    2. I can assure you that exchange rats is very correct and I mentioned it, just as guidance, and to give you an idea how 'tricky' restaurants, etc., can be...

    1. Yes, it is, intentionally. This is the 100th round of CYG. For this reason, I though it should be related to something to do with numbers. I hope you accept the difference. A change from time to time avoids boredom, doesn't it?

    1. Michiko, if you were an Italian lady I would think you had chosen the number 3 for being considered as the perfect number - the triangle is an indestructible shape - and also its biblical connotation: trinity. Father, son, holy spirit. As you are not Italian, perhaps you like the Japanese character for 'san'.

  4. 2.65€ I suppose. Life is cheaper.

    1. Hungary is no longer the bargain destination for foreign travellers that it was some years ago, but it is still cheaper by a third or even a half than most Western European countries. As Hungarians are aware of it, foreign travellers are often charged more for restaurants, bars, etc. than locals.

    1. Thanks, Linda, for the congratulations that I think should go not only to me but also to all 'players'. CYG would not have reached this milestone without the support of all of you.
