I started selecting the colours:
Brown and red might suit a fox
Resembling the fur coats of some neighbours,
Pink for the roses pretty as they can be.
I mixed different blues for the sky and the sea,
Yellow for the stars and the buzzing bumblebee,
White pearl made the clouds
Look beautiful but, not proud.
Took one colour from the rainbow
And got a nice sunset glow!
The choice of orange was for a bonfire
Safely encircled by barbed wire,
Green was the colour for a four-leaf clover
Falling softly on my hands
Feeling lucky when it landed,
Wishing it would never blow over.
I closed my box of colours as I was done with them.
Together they had made a painting,
Whether that was one, two or three,
None of them feigned the reality...
All were smiling at you and me!
