Another week, another round and... no winner!!!
I had thought this one wouldn't be that difficult, but it turned out being not easy. Sorry, I really would like to congratulate one of you, at least.
The correct answer should have been .... A SHEEP'S HEAD!!!
This house was seen in Modra, a small town famous for its majolica pottery industry. Its blue-and-white porcelain is well-known throughout Slovakia. It is also known as one of the most important viticulture centres in the Little Carpathians region. The video-clip below shows you not only the typical majolica of Modra but also the building pictured in the photo above (1' 21" after the clip starts). According to my Google searching, the XIX century building was originally a hostel.

ReplyDeleteThe sound reached me...
DeleteI had overlooked this quiz :((
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michiko!
DeleteI had chosen 'Boar's head' because boar-hunting still takes place in some eastern European countries. Now I'm looking a bit sheep-ish. LOL.
ReplyDeleteWhen I read your choice I thought your reason might have been that because it's very true. Sorry for your feel...
DeleteThat sheep's head is huge, much bigger than I imagined anything in that spot to be! Meanwhile enjoying the video, the pottery is beautiful, I have always been partial to blue & white, and would have trouble selecting a piece to buy as a keepsake if I were visiting... it's just lovely!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, Monica. It's really huge...much more than one might have figured it out. The pottery was very nice... colourful and with pretty designs..
