  1. This, I presume, is a European thing. I know they have carnivals in Germany and Switzerland at this time of year. I assume Portugal does, too? No such carnivals here in the UK.

    1. Hi Mitch! Yesss, Portugal has the tradition of celebrating Carnival, most probably influenced by Brazil, somehow. It's a nationwide celebration, but it reaches its peak in the Algarve...

    Maybe the most famous carnivals shows in Italy are those of Venice and Viareggio

    1. Thanks, Edoardo, for the visit and greeting. I have never enjoyed Carnival, even when I was much younger. Of course I know it's very famous in Venice. Have heard about Viareggio papier-mâché floats during Lent but had never heard about its famous Carnival. We're always learning...
