This, I presume, is a European thing. I know they have carnivals in Germany and Switzerland at this time of year. I assume Portugal does, too? No such carnivals here in the UK.
Hi Mitch! Yesss, Portugal has the tradition of celebrating Carnival, most probably influenced by Brazil, somehow. It's a nationwide celebration, but it reaches its peak in the Algarve... Thanks for the visit!
Thanks, Edoardo, for the visit and greeting. I have never enjoyed Carnival, even when I was much younger. Of course I know it's very famous in Venice. Have heard about Viareggio papier-mâché floats during Lent but had never heard about its famous Carnival. We're always learning...
