A SHORT TRIP TO THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF BREAD...

Last week, I went to Seia, a city at the foot of Serra da Estrela, with the purpose of visiting the Bread Museum, apparently one of the biggest bread museums in the world. I wonder how many bread museums there are in the world...
I actually learned some new facts about bread, its history and the whole bread making process. Some of the exhibits included tools used by bakers and millers back in the days. It was  fascinating to see those utensils specially compared to nowadays' bread makers.
It also showcased objects inspired by bread, including ceramics and silverware. At the end of the visit I had a coffee and a custard tart al fresco.
On the way back home I was pleased to have noticed that the heritage of Portuguese bread is well preserved.
