Amalie, please accept my little token of appreciation- a cast iron Japanese furin wind bell - for your smart guess.
I have the above cast iron Japanese furin wind bell in my home office room. It's a Japanese cultural icon. Its resonant sound has been described as "clear and cool", characteristic of Japanese minimalism concentrating on one single sound rather than a jumble of different sounds. It's the most natural calming sound known to the ear. This sound has been proved to reduce stress, enhance creativity, improve one's mood, providing people with a natural sense of balance and buoyancy.
It's used in Japan in summer to suggest the coolness of a breeze and it can be often seen in public spaces during the long summer months. Usually hung on porches it's a truly soothing and peaceful sound that induces daydreaming or meditation.
Next round: Monday, January 21, 2013

ReplyDeleteCongratulations Amalie...
ReplyDeletePerfectly, since I would like to tell my impression to you, I comment it in Japanese.
Wow... Michiko... your words are so kind! They really touched me....
