I took the above photo when I visited a ceramic museum that displays many pieces by a Portuguese naturalist whose style was inspired by fauna and flora. The frog is one of his most iconic pieces.
Just a curiosity: Perhaps you know that frogs are traditionally seen by gypsies as a bad luck symbol. If you come to Portugal, you will see a ceramic or plastic frog displayed in many shop windows or next to cash tills. Shop-owners claim to have had problems with gypsies in the past, but since the frogs were displayed, they have not had any more gypsies coming in.
