I'm very much pleased to announce and congratulate the four ex-aequo winners, though Marianne had commented how the FUN is getting more difficult week after week.
Irony of fate...
MARIANNE is one of the four ex-aequo winners of this week.
Who are the three others???
DANETTE, BILL and MITCH
who also guessed... a bronze sculpture!!!
The sculpture of the late French artist Germaine Richier (1902-1959), which can be seen in the garden of the Museum of Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation (Lisbon) is named 'La Grande Sauterelle' (The Big Grasshopper).
Richier's early work was fantastic, combining classical forms with human-animal hybrids and depicting creatures such as the spider, the hydra, the grasshopper. Her style became less figurative after the World War II. The bodily deformations which she favored as subjects were more accentuated in an attempt to convey a greater sense of anguish (source: Wikipedia)
The winners are entitled to post the badge below on their own homepages. The winners are requested to copy the badge and upload it to their own Flickr or Photobucket pages. They can then use HTML code from their Flickr or Photobucket accounts to post on their homepages.
Danette, Marianne, Bill and Mitch, please accept these little, yet heavy, tokens of my appreciation.
They are all made out of Portuguese marble, the elephant excluded.
My choice of the sculptures took into account the little I know about your likes.
Marianne, I think the elephant will feel happy in your garden.
Next round: Monday, October 21, 2013

A very interesting sculpture...
ReplyDeleteI love my prize! Thank you!
Danette, that was the photo I found in my sculpture folder, relating the most to your beloved sea...
DeleteGlad to read you like it...
Thanks for the horse! Now I'm wondering why the woman in the photo was looking fairly annoyed. Maybe she'd guessed wrong.
ReplyDeleteMy pleasure, Bill! I have no idea why she was showing that look but that sculpture seen from its back is slightly odd or even a bit weird...
DeleteYayyy, I guessed right!! Thanks Belita, for the sculpture!!
ReplyDeleteYesss, you did, Mitch! You're always welcome!
ReplyDeleteI love the song you play here!
