OFF TO THE CITY OF SETUBAL

Setubal is a pleasant city to wander around in and admire the very scenic small old streets in the old part of it. That's what I did yesterday...
The railway station                                   The Main square

The Town Hall

The market

My eyes were particularly attracted by the balconies and some of the streets that were decorated with the purpose of becoming appealing to consumers, I wonder those decorations will make consumers loosen the strings of their purses... At least, they were colourful...

Running off the square in several directions are a labyrinth of small streets with boutiques, shops and small cafés; here and there the streets open up to squares with a small church or monument.

~~ Have a great start of the week ~~

  2. You went to Setubal (Stoobal) on Saturday and I went to Sintra. I didn't take many pictures and videos because of the crowds of tourists. There was no way to escape them and yes, I was also a tourist. I'd imagined Setubal to be quite different but my knowledge of Portugal is only starting.

    1. Hi Dai! Every weekend, Sintra is normally crowded all the year round, very different from Setubal where I saw not more than half a dozen. The city like any other that's not a tourist destination, was quiet yesterday. Many restaurants and shops were closed. The ideal atmosphere to take photos. If I had been there on Saturday, most probably it would look different as stores wouldn't be closed.
      Thanks for the visit!

  3. What a lovely little town!! It looks so tidy and clean, with many attractive buildings!! Most certainly a place I would happily wander around myself!! I also enjoyed your photos, particularly 'Celebrity Pig' and 'Sweet Potato E.T.'

    1. Hi Mitch! It's a city not far from Lisbon - 40km south of Lisbon - and easily reached by train. Not a big one but interesting, somehow!
      Thanks for the visit!
