I was a bit shocked as my eyes set on the pollution of Caima River that I remember well was very clean at my childhood times. In the area, there are several industrial units that manufacture a wide range of products from moulds and footwear to springs and cooking wares. Pity to see that industrialists don't care about environment.
The same happened with the Ul river waters. Despite the interesting Mills Theme Park, something like a living museum of bread making and grain milling, activities in the area that date back to the XIX century, I was so disgusted that the waters were also polluted...
However, I forgot for a while my feeling as I looked at the traditional sweet bread with cinnamon, a unique cultural heritage...
I think most of you, like me, are fond of stories with a happy end. The day had a great one as I reached Cabreia Park.
The area is criss-crossed with streams on which water-mills are dotted throughout the landscape.
A delicious dinner was perfect to make me prepared to enjoy the following day...

Hi Isabel. I was just reading through your blog and looking through all the pictures. I get angry and frustrated when companies pollute our rivers. There should be severe punishment for deliberately doing that.
ReplyDeleteI understand and share all your words...Thanks for visiting, Dai!
DeleteGood morning Belita, your photos are very good as well as interesting. This is happening here now too, industrialists and farmers don't care so long as they are making a profit.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely weekend.
Hi Shayna! It's so sad to see that there are people who disregard the harmful effects of their lack of respect for the environment...

It is so sad about the pollution. It makes me angry how industry does this with no thought to the consequences to the environment!! However, you still managed to find and photography much beauty to be admired!!
ReplyDeleteHi Mitch! Unfortunately that's a real fact that is not confined to Portugal...
